Brief:  To create a kitchen extension, to the rear of a Grade 2 listed building.

Location: St. Leonard's Conservation area, Exeter.

Design: It was desirable that much of the original fabric of the property was retained in linking the new extension successfully to the existing house. Our solution used existing openings in the existing kitchen space and side walls to achieve a contemporary extension to the kitchen whilst allowing the historic fabric of the original building to be clearly defined. The use of contemporary materials and construction methods were appropriate in the historic development of the house.
